Through sickness and in health.

Hello, everyone... I am not feeling well so I’m not in my normal chipper mood but I haven’t written in a week so it’s time. I have a sinus infection and when I went to the doctor to get a steroid shot in my back-ouch!-I met a 3rd year med student who goes to OSU Medical which is where Coy starts at in August. She warned me that Coy’s first year will be the hardest. It was just another reminder to be extra supportive which is what everyone keeps telling me. Be supportive! Be extra nice! Be there when he needs me! I’m trying to start now, so I am already in the habit. It’s not like I wasn’t supportive or nice in the first place, but everyone has a moment or two when they are not “treating others as they want to be treated”, right?

On to other things… 4th of July was good. I actually had the day off, which is very exciting. I hope everyone had a great weekend!

I have 2 Followers now. Thank you! Thank you! ... 8 more to go before August 1.

And what about life with Coy? Well, Coy has his Orientation week Monday August 9th through Friday August 13. This is when he is to get to know his classmates and stuff before their actual classes start. Then, he has his White Coat Ceremony on the morning of August 14. It’s like the opposite of a graduation… it’s the beginning of being a med student. He gets his doctor coat, hints the name and also, his family is coming in from Arkansas. Then his actual classes start August 16… So, just about a month left before his life becomes extremely hectic and I can start writing about Med School from my point of view.

I would like some advice on changing my background, adding keywords, making/adding a signature to the end of each blog, etc., to make my blog page more exciting. For starters, where do I find a new background and how do I apply it?

Well, any and all comments or questions are greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading!

Blog II

Day 2 and counting… I have one “follower” so far! Thank you, Lindsey. I want at least 10 by the end of July, so let’s make that happen. I’m also posting it on facebook at the present time so you can read and comment on there (for now)! BUT you can join my blog without having to write your own, just so you guys out there reading know.
We went to Yokozuna last night to eat and it was excellent. Find them at: http://yokozunatulsa.com/
Yokozuna means: the highest rank in professional sumo. So, they had pictures of sumo wrestlers all over the walls. Their sushi was delightful and I ordered a glass of Leese-Fitch Chardonnay and I would most definitely suggest it to those who are willing to try it… I just love eating and drinking. I could honestly write an entire blog about it!

Well, I'll say good-bye on that note. Any comments or questions just let me know I’ll be happy to respond.

Where do I begin..

Where do I begin..? I began reading several blogs a few weeks ago and just fell in love with what these people had to say. So, now it's my turn and I hope people find me just as interesting.
I started reading blogs because my boyfriend, Coy starts Med School in the Fall and people said it would help to see what other "spouses" of Med students and/or doctors are saying... That way I am prepared to "survive" Med School. It has been a little scary, to be honest, to read some of the thoughts of these miraculous women. But I also noticed that most of these women are married and most of them have kids. Coy and I plan to get married and we plan to have kids, but not yet. So, I feel that if there is anyone out there in my situation they should be able to come and read what it's like to be madly in love but not yet married to a Med Student! So, here I go...
A few things about me are… I am a Receptionist at a Commercial Property Management Company and a Sales Associate at Banana Republic. Even though, I am presently, desperately trying to find one full time job that will pay all my bills. Yet, this search is long lasting and Coy is trying to be supportive but it's hard for the both of us…. Also, Coy and I have two male dogs, one’s named Rocky and the other is Kuhmo. They are my children, Coy’s dogs because I treat them like humans, most of the time. Coy and I switch off nights cooking for each other, even though he is like a gourmet chef and my cooking is throwing a frozen lasagna in the oven. I guess you can blame it on having a working mother all my life and a boyfriend and sister who love to cook for me. Coy and I also have “date night” once a week, normally Fridays as long as I’m not working late. Well, I’ll stop there for now. This was fun!

Well, I know my mission is to write from a Med Student’s girlfriend perspective but classes don’t start until August so bear with me as I write about my second to last summer before rotations. Any comments or questions just let me know I’ll be happy to respond.
