I began to decide on something blue (My Garter), something old (My Mamaw's little bible from when she was a teenager), something new (My dress) and something borrowed (I'm thinking some jewerly from my Mom's collection).

I have lost track of time and now we are 2 and 1/2 weeks away from the wedding.

I had my first dress fitting. My second fitting is Tuesday. I decided to wait till the last minute.

I helped Coy pick out his suit.

I'm sorry that I've been such an awful blogger lately. I've rarely been updating and when I do it so short that you feel jipped. I understand that I'm sucking at life right now and today will not be much better... I just don't have the urge to write right now. I'm trying to take up more hours at both my jobs, the wedding is right around the corner and I'm starting to feel a little anxiety creeping over me.
  • I have a run this upcoming weekend (Pray I don't come in last)
  • The following weekend Coy and I are doing our engagement pictures (FINALLY) and my Aunt is throwing me a wedding shower!
  • We got Coy's suit. We decided to buy a suit over a renting a tux because I said so..
  • We also chose our night before the wedding dinner, which is replacing a rehearsal dinner, since there isn't a rehearsal. We chose diego's, it's a mexican restuarnt in MGM that we are absolutely in love with.
  • Also, today my mom and I began the final decisions for the reception.
  • 2months from Monday I'm going to marry the man of my dreams. It seems unreal.

Hopefully more posts next week. Sorry, guys!

Honeymoon and Weight loss

I realize Coy and I have another 3months and 6days till my wedding but I am just so excited! So, I thought we should talk about my honeymoon. We are leaving on a Monday and coming back the following Sunday... "Why Monday, if you are getting married on a Saturday?" you might ask.. Because we are not flying back home from Vegas until Sunday night. "Well, why not fly out from Vegas? Instead of flying home first?". Our trip is a round trip so flying out from home is cheaper.... And now some pictures.

I'm so freakin' excited!... But I really need to get bathing suit ready. I haven't been tracking my points for Weight Watchers and every time I start back I'll track my breakfast, but will forget to track anything else. Also, I've only been working out 3xs a week the past few weeks, even if I have time I'm normally too lazy. Example, I got off at 6 o'clock last night but instead of getting my workout on, I laid in bed after dinner and played games on my phone and read a little bit. So, last night before I caught some shut eye I set my alarm so I could workout this morning and instead, this morning, I turned it off and slept another hour and a half. I suck at life.
I was doing so good. I lost 8lbs and then gained 5 lbs. Where is my motivation? Someone help me!

Wedding Registery and other sorts

I originally thought about writing about my fear of having ugly children and my recent nightmare about this, but I'd rather not today... instead let's talk about date night and how we are going to do our Wedding Registry tonight and some of the items we're putting on there.

1. We are re-doing our bedroom and bathroom. Just small changes because we like the black and cream colors we have now, but we need a new comforter. I love this one:

2.We NEED new towels... Right now they are hot pink because I was 18 when I bought them... We are going to do tan towels and put the hot pink ones in the guest bathroom for now.

3. I want a Panini maker... It also will be great for quesadillas and such.

4. I'd also love new bath rugs.

5. Also, we recently ditched my old crappy rug in our living room so I could use a new one... It looks so empty without it.

6. I want drapes in kitchen, but we may or may not ask for them.

I'm sure I will find many more items to put on there. Though, we are not putting an Espresso Machine (if you read earlier posts then you know I've been wanting one) on there because my Mom is buying us one for Christmas.

On to even more exciting news... BUR-BUR-BURR! I've lost 5lbs during my first week of Weight Watchers... I can't wait to say 10lbs. I also have bad news though... I fell on the treadmill Tuesday and busted up BOTH knees (especially the right one) after hobbling for several days and numerous sleep-less nights, they are feeling better... BUT (here's the bad news) it still hurts so incredibly bad when I try and run, so I haven't been able to. My poor knees!

Random Wednesday on a Tuesday

Hello Readers!!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I sure did. I had a much needed break from both jobs for 6 days and I obviously took a break from blogging too… Just a few random things I’d like to mention

1. I started Weight Watchers Sunday and I have already lost 2lbs… I’m determined to lose this weight because never in my life have I been this heavy. I have been between 110lbs. and 120lbs. from age 13 to age 20 and now I’m approaching 140 as I approach my 23rd birthday… I want to live a healthy lifestyle before I have children and have to teach my children a healthy lifestyle… Just in case you are thinking 140lbs is not bad. I became overweight on my BMI scale when I weighed 125. I am only 5’0” tall and I need to get my weight under control before it goes any further… Plus I want to be skinny on my wedding day!

2. I won $200.00 on Vacation!

3. Christmas is in 25days. I have started my Christmas shopping but there is still a ton more to get done. Have you started yours?

4. We bought a new washer and dryer… Kinda as a Christmas gift to each other (even though it went on Coy’s card, not a mutual one. Lol). Our dryer has been broken for awhile. We’ve had it fixed but a month later it started crapping out again. It takes 4 hours to dry things… It’s awful!

5. I met my Wedding Coordinator over the weekend and she is a ditz. We set the appointment 2 months ago, yet she was 15 minutes late after I told her we were on a tight schedule and extremely unprepared. Our conversation:

HER- “So, you came to see the Spa Wall?”

ME- “Well, we’ve already seen it but sure! We wouldn’t mind seeing it again. But what I really came for was to get the final details completed like my flowers and aisle runner?”

She hands me a brochure

ME- “I’ve already seen this and know exactly what I want”

HER- “Oh! So, you’ve set a date?”

ME- “Yes, we signed a contract”

HER- “Oh, I’m sorry. I’m sure it’s in my office somewhere”

That’s just a little taste of how our morning went with her. She also told us our reception package would be $750.00 not including the food, turns out the space is $3,000.00… Boy, was she off! Goodness Gracious! I’m not trying to be a bridezilla, I just want to know that on May 28, she isn’t going to say something like “Oh yes, the Smith Family!” and I’m like “Who are they?”

Well, thanks for reading!!

"What should I talk about today?” this is a question I ask myself nearly every Monday, when I sit down at the computer and catch up on blogs, which I haven’t read since Wednesday. So, what should I write about today? How I am so un-ambitious to lose weight until I find out someone has lost more than me? No, I’ll talk about weight when I actually want to give up great food… Or should I talk about my amazing weekend or my excitement for the holidays? No. And no… So, what?... Wasn’t the point of this blog to talk about Coy’s and my struggles through Medical school? Yes, but let’s face it all he does is study which makes my life far more exciting… Let’s talk about wedding inspiration. Yes, that sounds fun!!

I have officially decided my colors are black, white and yellow with splashes of green.

I've mentioned before I like the vintage feel. My dress and stuff is vintage looking. I thought this record CD would be a good idea for a party favor. For my something old I'm carrying grandmother's bible from when she was young, behind my flowers. I thought that seemed to go well with the vintage look.

I love this reception photo, because it incorporates trees whch has nothing to do with a "vintage feel" but I still love it!!

And how couldn't I love this photo. It is such a great idea with the yellow shoes and yellow socks. Too bad my shoes are ivory.

Thanks for reading!!

Random Wednesday

Hello All.

I have tried my very hardest not to cut my hair even though it is getting longer and less cute I've tried to be strong and keep it long for Coy's and my wedding in May, so I can do a great updo... BUT recently I have hated the way I look in nearly ever picture because I hate my hair so VERY VERY MUCH... Just look how cute my hair USED to be.

So, I'm chopping it back off like as soon as I can get in somewhere... the thing is, I've been trying to find a new hair person for awhile and just haven't had very good luck.

  • It's 21 days till Vegas for Coy's Thanksgiving break!
  • It's 1 month and 22 days till Christmas!
  • It's 2 months and 24 days till my birthday!
  • I marry the man of my dreams in 6months and 25 days!!!

There is your Random Wednesday! Have a great rest of the week.

Happy Monday!

Where do I begin?..

My weekend went well. We went to the fair on Friday, after seeing the play “The Insanity of Mary Girard” which Union High School performed and a barista from my Starbucks had a leading role in. At the fair, we ate a bunch of junk and rode two rides (yes, only two we are too poor to buy more tickets). I, of course didn’t take pictures, but I found this one…

Saturday I overslept and nearly missed my appointment at David’s Bridal. We arrived 25 minutes late but they didn’t seem too mad. My mom bought me my dress, slip, shoes, head piece and garter. I would post pictures but Coy reads my posts sometimes so you will simply have to wait… I am getting so excited. I just can’t wait any longer. We get married in 7months and 17 days (I have the countdown on my phone)… After my dress shopping, we put the dress in a hiding spot and then my mom and I had lunch together. The day was pretty boring after that since I worked all night.

Yesterday was my lazy day. Coy and I had to teach at church but after that he had to study so I just ran up to work, dropped off some cupcakes and headed to the movie with Jenny and Matt (two of my favorite people). We saw “Life as We Know It” starring Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel. It was adorable… Then, Coy and I had dinner together last night.

I’m off at Starbucks until Wednesday and since Coy studied all weekend, we’ve decided that these next two nights we will enjoy our time together before it’s back to work for me and back to studying for him. I’m so excited…

My little sister turns 19 in 3days. It makes me feel old.

First let me introduce my newest blog: FOODIES ANONYMOUS.

http://foodiesanonymous-kris.blogspot.com/2010/09/welcome-to-foodies-anonymous.html

I love trying new things, going out to eat and enjoying the great food God has put on this earth for me. So, after several suggestions from people I decided they had a good idea... I should write a blog about FOOD! No worries, readers I'll still be writing on here about Coy's and My adventure through Med School, our upcoming wedding and all the things in between.
Speaking of our upcoming wedding... This Sunday is our engagement party and as of right now we have 40 guests. 40 guests to feed. 40 guests to entertain. 40 guests to look cute for. So, after all my searching... today it just came to me. This is the look I'm going for:Second to the end, top row. The green skirt, white top. Adorable! Sorry it isn't bigger!... I love this site and wish I could buy everything off of it, but that's only a dream of mine. What do you think? Comments please!

September is almost here...

I have been SO busy. I apologize. I’ve been really trying to keep up with the blogs that I follow, but that has taken away any time I’ve had left to write.

Things going on:

· Coy has not only started school, but has become elbow deep in it. He studies all the time and we try to have date night once a week and have successfully had dinner with each other every night, so far.

· We have changed our wedding date to Memorial Day weekend. Which we had originally chosen that weekend (May 28) because everyone would be out of school and it would just work out perfectly with his lease ending at the first of June, but then we realized it was Memorial Day weekend. So, we decided to bump it up to the 21st and just hope everyone could make it. But after a recent discovery of a major problem with our honeymoon falling on a bad week for me, we’ve decided to move it back to May 28.

· I’m ready for all the holidays… Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, which leads to my birthday, Valentine’s Day, and my anniversary. I can feel it getting close, not only because September is nearly here, but also Starbucks has started serving their pumpkin spice latte. YAY!!

· I love my new job at Starbucks. It has been a month and I absolutely love it more and more each day… Last week though, I worked 9 days straight and ended up sick. This then ended up making Coy sick. Whoops!

So, I was wondering “What makes a friend?”… Because the other night, I had a friend of mine say “we aren’t friends because we never talk anymore”. I’m like “we are talking now and we talked a month ago. So what do you mean?”… I feel if you were once a good friend of mine then you will always be a good friend, even if life gets too busy and we don’t get to talk as often as we used to… Coy works so hard to keep in contact with people. He really puts effort into keeping his friendships alive. I, on the other hand, just assume we will still be friends even if we only get to see or talk each other every once in awhile. I guess I just accept that I am busy and so are you and when we get time we will work something out. What do you think? Let me know.

Am I Jumping the Gun?

I have this obsession, which I had worked so hard on curing while single, but Coy has awaken this monster... So, this past Sunday Coy and I (plus my Mom, sister and her boyfriend) went to the Wedding Show. I have went for the past three years but this year was different, it seemed so official. We registered under Bride and Groom, tried foods, talked to vendors and got a few ideas. I, also, ran into a few people I know and had to tell them the truth, "oh. we aren't actually engaged yet. We just know we are getting married next spring, so we came". It was kind of embarrassing though, because I feel like they are thinking "oh, so you are forcing him to marry you and you think dragging him here will help". No, he came willingly!... Anyway, since then we have made the list of who is invited to the destination wedding (the reception invite list is being put off for now because of the fact it will be long and probably should be typed. lol)... This brings us to, I've started looking at invites and such.
I started thinking the other day and made my final decision last night that our colors will be black, white and green. So, here is the SAVE THE DATE! I don't even know if this will be a good idea since we aren't having a ceremony in town. What are everyone's opinions?

I also found an invite I like too, but I would like to make a few minor changes to it. Opinions?

But the real question here is... Am I Jumping the Gun? I've always thought that I would have a long engagement. This way I would have time to have an engagement party, send save the dates, enjoy my engagement, plenty of time to plan, and enjoy the fact that I can say "This is my
Fiancé ", but plans change. The day has been officially set to May 21, 2011. That is 9 months and 11 days from today. That seems like plenty of time, but there is just so many "to-dos" running through my head. Plus, looking at invitations and dresses is good clean fun, but I do not think it is wise to begin ordering them until there is a ring on my finger... My Mom says she can plan a wedding in a month, I said no! How long does a girl need?
Comments please! I need opinions.
