I'm sorry that I've been such an awful blogger lately. I've rarely been updating and when I do it so short that you feel jipped. I understand that I'm sucking at life right now and today will not be much better... I just don't have the urge to write right now. I'm trying to take up more hours at both my jobs, the wedding is right around the corner and I'm starting to feel a little anxiety creeping over me.
  • I have a run this upcoming weekend (Pray I don't come in last)
  • The following weekend Coy and I are doing our engagement pictures (FINALLY) and my Aunt is throwing me a wedding shower!
  • We got Coy's suit. We decided to buy a suit over a renting a tux because I said so..
  • We also chose our night before the wedding dinner, which is replacing a rehearsal dinner, since there isn't a rehearsal. We chose diego's, it's a mexican restuarnt in MGM that we are absolutely in love with.
  • Also, today my mom and I began the final decisions for the reception.
  • 2months from Monday I'm going to marry the man of my dreams. It seems unreal.

Hopefully more posts next week. Sorry, guys!

Update: New Year's Resolutions

Update on My New Year's Resolutions:

  • Read a book every month- I did this last year and really enjoyed it.

So far I read, Cross Fire by James Patterson in January and Febuary's book was Drop Shot by Harlan Coben. Both were excellent books! I just started Bait by Karen Robard for March.

  • Run a half marathon-This is big for me because I've been running for years and have never been in a marathon. Just Fun Runs. lol

This is going to take a lot of work. I aim to do the Tulsa Run's half marathon in October. So, far I have done one 5k and am signed up to run one more on March 26. Then, I'll aim to do a 10k and move up from there... I'm just proud I've officially ran my 5k.

  • Learn to Stay in Shape- I worded it this way because I've lost 10lbs and still have another 10lbs to go, but this isn't about that... This is about learning healthy habits and making it a lifestyle not a short lived diet.

I'm awful at this. I so badly want to feel comfortable in my own skin again, but with working 2 jobs and one being a coffee shop with thousands of unhealthy creation to get my chubby little fingers around, it's hard... I gave up all sweets for Lent. It started yesterday and ends Palm Sunday. I know I'm giving them up more for myself than anything. Can you blame me? I grew up Baptist and Lent doesn't have as strong effect on my spiritual walk as it has on many others... Also, Saturday is 11 weeks from my wedding. If I got serious and worked really hard at losing a lb. per week I would be at my goal weight.

How are you doing with your New Year's Resolutions?

Getting to Know Me..

Hello Readers,

I've recently noticed that I have several new readers and I thought I would blog today about "Getting to Know Me"... I am an opinionated 23 year old named Kris. I work in the morning as a receptionist/Face of the Family Company/whatever they tell me to do girl and at night I am a Starbucks Shift Supervisor and everything it entitles. I'm also a doggy mom to a border collie, named Kuhmo (Kuhmie, I like to call him) and a Rottweiler Shepherd mix named Rocky. Most importantly, I'm the fiance of the greatest guy on earth, who is named Coy. Coy and I are getting married 3 months from TODAY at The MGM in Vegas, NV... I hope to go back to school in August of this year to be an Elementary School teacher and I'd like to have 2, maybe 3 children before I turn 30 (I have a lot to do in 7 years)... I started this blog because I was the girlfriend of a Med Student and every other blogger I found that could semi-relate to me, were married to a StuDoc (Student Doctor) or a Doctor and I felt that I could be of assistants to a newer crowd of people. So, here I am! I tend to talk more about myself then him though, but am always willing to answer questions about Med School... I am also a runner trying to accomplish more than a 5k and on top of that, trying to accomplish "The Body of My Dreams". BUT it's harder than it seems.
So, I hope all you new and old readers love what I have to share... Happy Reading!
-Kris-

Work. Running. Life.

Hey! I’m writing two days in a row!!! WOOT!… I also realized today that I made a few mistakes in my blog from yesterday. I apologize! I need to read and re-read before posting. Also, my preview looked totally different from what I ended up with. TROUBLE. TROUBLE. But practice makes perfect on this thing.

Update on my work life: Yesterday I mentioned having a more stable work schedule. Well, my receptionist job is stable, but my Banana Republic job is so sporadic that it’s hard to plan my life (and I’m a planner). Plus, I don’t even find out till Friday if I work 2 days later on Sunday, so it’s hard to know if I can ever teach Sunday school. Anyway, I was offered a job 2 weeks ago to be a Shift Supervisor for Starbucks. It would be a pay increase; it’s not as far away from my house and also will give me a stable work schedule. Well, I went to interview number one, then two and yesterday was number three. I had to go through all three because it’s a management position. So, now I am waiting… Cross your fingers.

So, I think I’m going to start running… again. I used to run and then I stopped and then I started running again. Then I stopped again. So on and so forth. Well, I started running, again, 3 months ago, ran a race and then got busy and the weather got too hot, so I stopped. The weather shouldn’t be an excuse because (HELLO) I own a treadmill. So, I’m not letting it be an excuse any longer. My cousin, Julie runs year round and I honestly don’t know how. I get bored with it or too busy for it and then begin to miss it so I start again. Am I alone here? Anyone do this other than me? And any advice on how to stay motivated?

Well, in the middle of writing this Starbucks called and I got the job!

Any comments or questions let me know.
