Random Wednesday on a Tuesday

Hello Readers!!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I sure did. I had a much needed break from both jobs for 6 days and I obviously took a break from blogging too… Just a few random things I’d like to mention

1. I started Weight Watchers Sunday and I have already lost 2lbs… I’m determined to lose this weight because never in my life have I been this heavy. I have been between 110lbs. and 120lbs. from age 13 to age 20 and now I’m approaching 140 as I approach my 23rd birthday… I want to live a healthy lifestyle before I have children and have to teach my children a healthy lifestyle… Just in case you are thinking 140lbs is not bad. I became overweight on my BMI scale when I weighed 125. I am only 5’0” tall and I need to get my weight under control before it goes any further… Plus I want to be skinny on my wedding day!

2. I won $200.00 on Vacation!

3. Christmas is in 25days. I have started my Christmas shopping but there is still a ton more to get done. Have you started yours?

4. We bought a new washer and dryer… Kinda as a Christmas gift to each other (even though it went on Coy’s card, not a mutual one. Lol). Our dryer has been broken for awhile. We’ve had it fixed but a month later it started crapping out again. It takes 4 hours to dry things… It’s awful!

5. I met my Wedding Coordinator over the weekend and she is a ditz. We set the appointment 2 months ago, yet she was 15 minutes late after I told her we were on a tight schedule and extremely unprepared. Our conversation:

HER- “So, you came to see the Spa Wall?”

ME- “Well, we’ve already seen it but sure! We wouldn’t mind seeing it again. But what I really came for was to get the final details completed like my flowers and aisle runner?”

She hands me a brochure

ME- “I’ve already seen this and know exactly what I want”

HER- “Oh! So, you’ve set a date?”

ME- “Yes, we signed a contract”

HER- “Oh, I’m sorry. I’m sure it’s in my office somewhere”

That’s just a little taste of how our morning went with her. She also told us our reception package would be $750.00 not including the food, turns out the space is $3,000.00… Boy, was she off! Goodness Gracious! I’m not trying to be a bridezilla, I just want to know that on May 28, she isn’t going to say something like “Oh yes, the Smith Family!” and I’m like “Who are they?”

Well, thanks for reading!!

Random Ranting Wednesday

I've decided today to combine Random Wednesday and my new Ranting Wednesday... My rants of the day, as follows:
  1. Why do women find it a good idea to wear black or dark colored bras underneath thier white shirts? It isn't attractive and it makes me think "have you not done laundry in awhile or are you just color blind?"... Listen! I've been in the situation where all my light bras are dirty and all I have is my deep purple colored bra. Solution: black cami. bodabing. bodaboom. Make it happen people.

  2. Why do you insist to preach to me in a public place? I go to church. I love Jesus... but do NOT approach me in Target and say "Do you know Jesus died on the cross for your sins?" because I'll say "yes, which gives me the right to punch you and then I'll just pray for forgivness tonight... Now move so I can grocery shop". Seriously, I'm dressed like everyone else what makes you pinpoint me out of everyone else and think "well, there's a sinner right there"

  3. Which brings me to my next rant, when you are at work and I put you on drive through, I don't appreciate having to take your orders and then later find out it's because you were praying... Once again, I love Jesus, but Jesus knows I work 2 jobs and while at work, I do my work!
Now to just plain Random things:
  1. We freed a mouse this morning. He was detected by Rocky last night, so we set an animal friendly trap (one that wouldn't kill him) and went to bed, so this morning we freed him and hoped he chooses the apartments over our house next time.

  2. I leave for Vegas in one week!!

  3. I only work Monday at both my jobs and then Tuesday afternoon I may have to come into my office job for 30mins or so... but then it's off to Vegas.

Thanks for reading!

First Things, First: Ranting Wednesday is going to switch off with Random Wednesday every so often. Also, I didn't get to do my Random Wednesday Countdown yesterday, I will do it today.

  • I'll say Hello to Vegas in 13days!
  • Christmas is in 1month & 13days!
  • I turn 23 in 2months and 15days!
  • Coy & I get married in 6months & 17days!

Now, let me explain to you the importance of dating. I feel extremely passionate about this because I've been brought up in a family who has engraved this into my mind and now I am a living breathing example of it.

I would hope that most couples, like Coy and I started out dating. During this dating period you get to know each other, have fun, establish common interests and ultimately fall in love. For many of us after you have been together a while the dating unfortunately stops. Careers may have blossomed, children may have entered the picture or in my case, school takes ALL of your fiance's time. You may find that you and your mate spend little or no time together alone. It is proven that couples that have a regular date night have happier and healthier relationships . I strongly suggest that you schedule a date night once each week. This will help you recreate or keep the closeness, fun and thrill in your relationship.

You think date night is too expensive? I have great news, date night does not have to cost a lot of money, in fact it can be free. It is about being creative and spending time together. A date night out can consist of a walk in the park, followed up by snuggling up and watching t.v. or a movie. It may involve the two of you cooking an inexpensive meal together. Or you could also search for free concerts and/or festivals to go to.

You are too busy? People give time and attention to what they value and find important. If you value your relationship then make the time. It is worth it. Make it a priority in order to create a lasting relationship. Also, date night is not about the quantity of time, but rather the quality of time. Quality time is a healthy way to express love. Just remember "couples that play together, stay together".

I'd just like to thank all my readers for your comments on here and facebook. You are greatly appreciated.

I realize it is Random Wednesday, but instead I'm doing Ranting Wednesday... Please Read what someone wrote on "Lives of Doctor Wives".

"I am above my circumstances."

"It can be a huge challenge while Dr.H is in medical school and residency to live the way we live, being the way we are. Most of the Dr. Wives I know not only have their college degrees, but have gone on the get advanced degrees such as a master's degree or law degree, or some other type of advanced education.
It only makes since that we are highly educated, intellectual women because we married men who value education as well.
This being said, it can be difficult emotionally, while in these years, when we are waiting in the overfilled medicaid clinic with our sick child, or buying food with WIC vouchers and/or food stamps.
I want to scream - "I want you all to know, I don't belong here! I'm not here because I dropped out of high school and have 3 kids from 3 daddies. I'm here because daddy is a doctor and we are all sacrificing for his education!"
"I am above my circumstances"
"I am above my circumstances"
Can get that as a bumper sticker on my falling apart car? Can I put it on a hat like Frank Rossitano on "30 Rock"?
No, I will suffer through. I will make extra money when necessary dealing Black Jack, dressing as Dora the Explorer or a Carebear at Walmart. I will do surveys for Marlboro at gay bars. I will hand out Viva paper towel samples to people who push it away and say, "I'm good" (who doesn't need paper towels any way?) I will make my kids wear pants that are too short and get the discounted lunch. I will do what I must for my husband to get his education.
But I will know that I am above my circumstances."

Wow! Really? Many readers were saying that it was "insensitive “and "offensive", but my complaint was as follows...

"Alright... I'll be honest I found this post to be offensive only because of this comment, "It only makes since that we are highly educated, intellectual women because we married men who value education as well"... I don't have a higher education. I have my associates and stopped at that so I could work while my Fiancé is in medical school. I did this so that we could still live in our nice house and have cars to drive... Oh and Miss Educated it *sense, not *since"

I guess this affected me because I chose not to go back to school when I got my job at Lavish and was working full time, bought myself a house and was enjoying the job that God had blessed me with. So, after I lost my job at Lavish (because they closed), I didn't go back to school because when I bought my house I made the choice to be a full time employee, not student. Now here I am working 2 jobs to support Coy and I so his loan money doesn't run out from being a full time Med Student and this girl makes me feel degraded because she feels that I must not "value my education" like Coy does... Actually, Miss Smarty Pants, Coy decided to be a doctor when he was young not because he was greedy or wanted to go to school for years and years and years, but because he wanted to help people.

I guess I've ranted enough... Leave me a comment!

"What should I talk about today?” this is a question I ask myself nearly every Monday, when I sit down at the computer and catch up on blogs, which I haven’t read since Wednesday. So, what should I write about today? How I am so un-ambitious to lose weight until I find out someone has lost more than me? No, I’ll talk about weight when I actually want to give up great food… Or should I talk about my amazing weekend or my excitement for the holidays? No. And no… So, what?... Wasn’t the point of this blog to talk about Coy’s and my struggles through Medical school? Yes, but let’s face it all he does is study which makes my life far more exciting… Let’s talk about wedding inspiration. Yes, that sounds fun!!

I have officially decided my colors are black, white and yellow with splashes of green.

I've mentioned before I like the vintage feel. My dress and stuff is vintage looking. I thought this record CD would be a good idea for a party favor. For my something old I'm carrying grandmother's bible from when she was young, behind my flowers. I thought that seemed to go well with the vintage look.

I love this reception photo, because it incorporates trees whch has nothing to do with a "vintage feel" but I still love it!!

And how couldn't I love this photo. It is such a great idea with the yellow shoes and yellow socks. Too bad my shoes are ivory.

Thanks for reading!!

Random Wednesday

Hello All.

I have tried my very hardest not to cut my hair even though it is getting longer and less cute I've tried to be strong and keep it long for Coy's and my wedding in May, so I can do a great updo... BUT recently I have hated the way I look in nearly ever picture because I hate my hair so VERY VERY MUCH... Just look how cute my hair USED to be.

So, I'm chopping it back off like as soon as I can get in somewhere... the thing is, I've been trying to find a new hair person for awhile and just haven't had very good luck.

  • It's 21 days till Vegas for Coy's Thanksgiving break!
  • It's 1 month and 22 days till Christmas!
  • It's 2 months and 24 days till my birthday!
  • I marry the man of my dreams in 6months and 25 days!!!

There is your Random Wednesday! Have a great rest of the week.

What Makes A Great Weekend?

On Thursday, all I knew was Coy had been studying all week and would continue throughout the weekend and I was working during all the Halloween parties. So, I honestly thought "well, goodbye weekend. I have to give Coy study time and I have to bring in some money"... but the weekend was actually an excellent weekend!

Friday we had steak and potatoes at my mom's then came home to carve our pumpkin!

I had never carved one (not like I actually carved it this time either... Coy did), so this was so exciting! Plus, it really put me in the halloween spirit. After, Coy carved us a pumpkin and I collected the seeds to be toasted, we decided to roast marmallows and make smores.
It was such a great night!!

Saturday, I got up, toasted pumpkin seeds, worked out, had lunch with Coy and decided to be batgirl at work that night.
BatGirl & Taylor Swift

Then, Sunday I slept in, had lunch with Coy (we like to eat. lol) and dressed up as a 80's High Schooler for work.
Disclaimer: The sweat shirt was really big. I'm not the fat.
What a great weekend! How was your weekend?
